"Cariñena, Wine from the Sea" is a film set in 1978 Spain, based on a novel by Antón Castro about his own experiences. It tells the story of Antón, an 18-year-old young man who flees military service to avoid a forced future and pursue his calling as a writer. On his journey, he forges key friendships, experiences first love, and matures, in a tale of personal growth that parallels Spain's transition to democracy.
