The Slovak National Radio Studio 1 and Studio 2 in Bratislava are the best recording studios for symphonic music, film music and chamber music in Central Europe.
Since the 1980s, these rooms have been used for the recording of hundreds of CDs for renowned record companies such as Marco Polo , Naxos , among others.
The Bratislava Symphony Orchestra has several recording studios in Bratislava, but we mainly use Studio 1 or Studio 2 of the Slovak National Radio in Bratislava, located in the city centre, in one of the most representative buildings of the city.
Characteristics of study 1
Studio 1 , also called the Great Concert Hall of the Slovak National Radio in Bratislava, has a capacity of about 500 people, as it was primarily intended for live broadcasts of concerts taking place in this hall as well as symphonic recordings.
Studio 1 has the acoustic capacity to record works from the great symphonic repertoire such as Mahler's Symphony No. 8, R. Strauss's Alpine Symphony, or G. Verdi's Requiem.
We prefer to record in this studio orchestral formations with more than 65 musicians, including instruments such as piano, celesta, harp and various percussion instruments such as marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, among others.
It is the only studio with a fully functional concert organ .

Features of study 2
Studio 2 was designed especially for the recording of symphonic music, orchestral formations of up to about 65 musicians, which is the majority of the classical and romantic repertoire. It is also intended for the recording of chamber music, piano with soloists or choirs.
It is perfect for producing film scores or pop music as it has a shorter reverb than Studio 1, making it easier to mix recorded film music.
It is perfect for recording in stems, especially if done in sections such as strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and choir.
